Olav Aarts (Ph.D) has over 14 years experience of Hatha Yoga and teaches in the Netherlands and abroad. He gives lectures on the origins and evolution of yoga traditions and Asian religions.
Trained by yogis in the Netherlands and India, he is experienced in, and received knowledge of asana, pranayama, mudra and bandha, kriya and dhauti. At age 20 he began practising Vipassana meditation and has lived in monasteries in Burma and Nepal. Next to his own yogastudio, he was teaching the asana's of Hatha Yoga at a yogateachertraining institute to upcoming yoga teachers. Olav worked as a sociologist of religion and researcher at the Department of Sociology at Radboud University Nijmegen, and has lived in the United Kingdom and Indonesia. Olav travels regularly to the Middle and Far East for retreats and schooling.
